Have you seen a derby angler helping out a fellow anglertrophy-md in a situation that was just incredible?  What about the fisherman who took a step and found himself swimming while trying to land his fish.  A fellow fisherman selfishly put his own pole aside to assist the one in need.  Have you got a good sportsmanship story to tell?  You can nominate a derby fisherman(woman) for the Andy Sorenson Sportsmanship Award. The nominee can win $500!  More information at derby headquarters!

Big, BIGGER, BIGGEST??? PDF Print E-mail

When Vicki Otte Brought in her big king on opening day, we thought she was in to win the zodiac.  Then Chris Hemboch decided he wanted a bigger fish and he wanted in on that zodiac.  But Brian Patterson had other ideas on Monday and got an even bigger fish.  Dave "Hillbilly" Edmonds said "wait a darn minute", I've been fishing this river for 8 years and I want the BIGGEST fish".  So he went out and caught it!  A whopping 48.37 lb king that took over the PRO division Tuesday morning at 6:30am.  Will there be someone else who wants the BIGGEST fish???   Stay tuned!

But let's not forget those other big fish coming in.  Someone needed to bring in a fish to the Non-Resident division.  Fisherman Otis Stinemann from Tennessee spend the first 3 days trying whatever anyone told him to try so he could catch a fish.  Finally, just before closing time we heard a voice from a distant yelling "I've got a fish - I'm in the non-resident division".  A 2.16 pounder landed him in first place.  Yesterday, however, Ryan Brinkman easily took over the lead with his nice 20.45lb king.  There is still a 3rd place spot open!

Louis Titus is still holding his lead in the adult male division and Lisa Dalton in the womens division checks every night to make sure she still has her first place spot.  Bruce Krischuck decided he wanted first  in the Senior Divison and sent Bob Ulin down a notch.  John Klein thought a girl shouldn't be in first place in the youth division.  He pushed  Kylean down to second place last night with a fish 1/2 pound bigger than hers!

So lets talk about you military personnel....what's going on out there??  We have a third spot that has been open for 5 days now!  Doug Paxso got on the board first and Nate Griswold got his name up yesterday.  You can do it!!
